Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 27, 2026

FaceCheckNow (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website at facechecknow.com and use our reverse face search service (collectively, the “Service”). Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using the Service, you consent to the data practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

  • Account information: When you register for an account, we collect your email address and any other information you voluntarily provide, such as a display name.
  • Payment information: When you purchase credits or subscribe to a plan, payment processing is handled by third-party providers (such as Stripe). We do not store your full credit card number, expiration date, or CVV on our servers. We may receive and store transaction identifiers, the last four digits of your card, and billing details necessary for record keeping.
  • Uploaded photographs: When you use the reverse face search feature, you upload a photograph containing a human face. This photograph is processed to generate a mathematical vector representation (embedding) and is then deleted from our systems. See Section 3 (Data Retention) for details.
  • Communications: When you contact us via email or through the Service, we collect the contents of your message and any information you choose to provide.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Device and usage data: We automatically collect certain information when you access the Service, including your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, pages viewed, and the dates and times of your visits.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to track activity on our Service and maintain certain information. See our Cookie Policy for detailed information.
  • Analytics: We use Google Analytics to collect and analyze usage data. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect information about your use of the Service. This information is transmitted to and stored by Google.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • Providing the Service: Processing your face search queries, delivering search results, managing your account, and processing payments.
  • Improving the Service: Analyzing usage patterns, diagnosing technical issues, and developing new features and functionality.
  • Communication: Sending you transactional emails (such as purchase confirmations and account notifications), responding to your inquiries, and, with your consent, sending promotional communications.
  • Security and fraud prevention: Detecting, preventing, and addressing fraud, abuse, security risks, and technical issues.
  • Legal compliance: Complying with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes, or governmental requests.

3. Data Retention

We apply strict data retention policies designed to minimize the personal data we store:

  • Uploaded photographs: Photographs uploaded for face search are automatically deleted from our servers within 24 hours of upload. We do not retain the original image files after processing.
  • Face embeddings: We generate mathematical vector representations (embeddings) from uploaded photographs. These embeddings are numerical arrays that cannot be used to reconstruct the original photograph. Embeddings derived from search queries may be retained to improve search accuracy and prevent abuse.
  • Account data: Your account information is retained for as long as your account remains active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.
  • Payment records: Transaction records are retained as required by applicable tax and financial regulations, typically for a period of seven (7) years.
  • Usage logs: Server logs and analytics data are retained for up to 90 days before being anonymized or deleted.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service providers: We share information with third-party service providers who assist us in operating the Service, including payment processors (Stripe), cloud infrastructure providers, and analytics services (Google Analytics). These providers are contractually obligated to use your information only as necessary to provide services to us.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court order or government agency).
  • Protection of rights: We may disclose information where we believe it is necessary to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding potential violations of our Terms of Service, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the safety of any person, or as evidence in litigation in which we are involved.
  • Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email and/or a prominent notice on the Service of any change in ownership or uses of your personal information.

However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. Our facial recognition system is designed to detect and reject images of minors. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 18 without verification of parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

If you are a parent or guardian and you believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@facechecknow.com so that we can take appropriate action.

9. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than the country in which you reside. These countries may have data protection laws that are different from the laws of your country. We take appropriate safeguards to ensure that your personal information remains protected in accordance with this Privacy Policy, including the use of standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission where applicable.
